Funding Secured through Collaborative Financing by the Japan Finance Corporation and Saga Bank

“Strengthening Support to Accelerate the ‘AI Sommelier’ Business, Enabling Liquid DX with 1 Drop in 1 Minute”

We have secured funding through a coordinated loan provided by the Saga Branch of the Japan Finance Corporation and Saga Bank. This funding aims to accelerate the full-scale development of our AI Sommelier business and strengthen our organizational structure.

ExtenD, a startup emerging from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), has developed a system that quickly and easily obtains the “chemical fingerprint information” of various liquids using AI Sommelier technology, which uniquely advances electrochemical measurements with ultra-sensitive diamond electrodes (see Figure 1). By utilizing ExtenD’s proprietary feature extraction technology (patent pending) on spectral signals from food, beverages, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, and bodily fluids (blood, sweat, urine), we visualize slight component information differences between solutions. Our business covers areas such as anomaly detection, digital transformation (DX), quality control, taste evaluation, and condition prediction.
