ExtenD Co., Ltd. Completes Seed Funding Round to Accelerate Growth
ExtenD Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Tosu City, Saga Prefecture; Representative Director: Mitsuru Kitaichi) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its seed funding round in June 2025.
Our vision is to “pioneer new markets with diamonds.” We are developing advanced applied technologies for diamond materials, leveraging research achievements from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). This funding is an important milestone in accelerating our business growth.
Funding Overview
The investors in this round are Mitsuboshi Diamond Industrial Co., Ltd. (Settsu City, Osaka) and Saginkyapital & Consulting Co., Ltd. (Saga City, Saga Prefecture).
The funds will be primarily allocated to the following areas to effectively drive business expansion and technological development:
- Conducting research and development, and commercializing diamond materials
- Promoting prototyping and demonstration projects
- Acquiring talent and strengthening organizational capacity
- Expanding business through collaboration with partner companies
About ExtenD Co., Ltd.
Established on July 4, 2022, ExtenD is a startup originating from AIST. We have further advanced diamond synthesis technology using hot filament CVD equipment developed by AIST, establishing a proprietary method for high-precision diamond synthesis on 12-inch wafer-sized substrates.
Building on this technology, ExtenD has developed a proprietary system known as “AI Sommelier Technology,” which integrates artificial intelligence with highly sensitive diamond electrodes for electrochemical measurement. This system enables the rapid and simple acquisition of chemical fingerprint information (spectral signals) from various solutions.
Using our patent-pending feature extraction technology, we aim to visualize subtle differences in components across a wide range of substances, including food, beverages, alcoholic drinks, pharmaceuticals, and even bodily fluids such as blood, sweat, and urine. This enables applications in anomaly detection, quality control, taste evaluation, and predictive diagnostics across diverse industries.
